Most people who are about to embark on a fitness quest want to go from zero to sixty in no time at all, but remember to take it slow, let your body ease into your new life change. It is better to know that you will get there in time, than to start out with a bang and fizzle down into failure.
I am a big believer in taking baby steps by being gentle with yourself and letting your body adjust. When looking a diet realize that diets don't work that it is all about a lifestyle change. So start by cutting out the junk food, or at least keep it to a minimum, enough to allow benefit but no so much that you are going to go crave crazy. The same goes for exercising, you can't run a marathon in a week, you have to gradually teach your body to build the endurance so that you don't get hurt in the process and quit.
I am a big believer in whispering not yelling, so whisper to yourself, yelling will only make you want to curl up and hide.
